CloseBrowse

CloseBrowse()

Records a historical MBrowse/MarkBrow closing call.

CloseBrowseAdvPL
01 · OVERVIEW

Overview

The Solutio community reference describes CloseBrowse() for an active MBrowse or MarkBrow. This does not establish universal FWMBrowse behavior: the official article says the class has no End/Close methods for closing its own screen, while user comments report CloseBrowse calls. These are different kinds of evidence. The example only prepares a callback for testing in a known legacy browse; it neither executes it nor treats closing as data confirmation. (SOLUTIO, n.d., ref. 1; TOTVS, 2024, ref. 2)

02 · SYNTAX

Syntax

CloseBrowse()

Return value

The community source states logical; semantics and current support remain unconfirmed.

03 · PRACTICAL EXAMPLE

Commented example

#Include "Protheus.ch"

User Function Ed301()
    Local bExit
    // Fragment: attach only to a legacy browse in testing.
    bExit := {|| CloseBrowse()}
    // This example does not invoke the callback.
Return Nil
Expected result

Block created without closing a screen. Test cancellation and pending data in the real caller. Under review: editorial example neither compiled nor run in Protheus. Check includes, release, RDD and context before testing.

BEST PRACTICES
  • Do not transfer the call to another class based on naming. Follow the component’s documented lifecycle.
  • Under review: editorial example neither compiled nor run in Protheus. Check includes, release, RDD and context before testing.
