DoSync / SyncDate
Distinguishes starting synchronization from its historical date lookup.
Overview
In the eAdvpl guide, DoSync() starts the communication client and SyncDate() reports the last synchronization date as yyyymmdd. The source establishes neither protocol, destination, authentication nor failure handling; it is not current Protheus synchronization documentation. A date format alone does not establish an AdvPL date type. The callbacks only record historical invocations without synchronizing or querying a real environment. (Guia de referência eAdvpl, n.d., section 8, p. 33, ref. 1)
Commented example
// Prepare only; do not evaluate legacy calls.
bSynchronize := {|| DoSync()}
bSyncDate := {|| SyncDate()}Blocks prepared without external communication. Under review: editorial example neither compiled nor run in Protheus. Check includes, release, RDD and context before testing.
- Do not equate SyncDate with Date or use DoSync as generic integration.
