MPProfInDB

MPProfInDB() -> NIL (TDN)

Checks the database-profile indicator, with return contract pending.

MPProfInDBAdvPL
01 · OVERVIEW

Overview

The official description says it indicates whether the profile is in the database, but published syntax is MPProfInDB()->NIL without a logical-return contract. We do not treat this function as a boolean predicate or a class. The block allows type inspection in staging without inferring a contract or migration from the name. (Sources: refs. 1–1.)

02 · SYNTAX

Syntax

MPProfInDB() -> NIL (TDN)

Return value

The source publishes NIL; semantics and any logical return require release-specific confirmation.

03 · PRACTICAL EXAMPLE

Commented example

#Include "Protheus.ch"

User Function Ed532()
    // Block not invoked; evaluate only in a prepared Protheus environment.
    Local bCheck := {|| ValType(MPProfInDB())}
    ConOut(ValType(bCheck))
Return Nil
Expected result

Prints B. When evaluating in staging, inspect the actual type. Under review: editorial example neither compiled nor run in Protheus. Check includes, release, RDD and context before testing.

BEST PRACTICES
  • Do not change dictionaries or profiles based solely on the indicator. Record release and compare results against environment configuration.
  • Under review: editorial example neither compiled nor run in Protheus. Check includes, release, RDD and context before testing.
