SelectDate

SelectDate(cString,dData)

Documents a date picker from the eAdvPL reference.

SelectDateAdvPL
01 · OVERVIEW

Overview

eAdvPL guide section 12.2 describes a calendar with a title and date variable. It says the selection is stored in the variable and also describes the date as return, without clarifying reference passing, cancellation or current support. We retain historical syntax without inferring those details. The uninvoked block concerns a legacy UI, not Schedule or REST. A current screen must test confirmation, cancellation and date bounds. (Sources: refs. 1–1.)

02 · SYNTAX

Syntax

SelectDate(cString,dData)

Parameters

cString
CharacterRequired

Title in the historical reference.

dData
DateRequired

Date variable; passing/cancellation unresolved.

Return value

Source mentions selected date; cancellation behavior unconfirmed.

03 · PRACTICAL EXAMPLE

Commented example

#Include "Protheus.ch"

User Function Ed646()
    // Historical subset; confirm date assignment and cancellation.
    Local bCalendar := {|dDate| SelectDate("Calendar",dDate)}
    ConOut(ValType(bCalendar))
Return Nil
Expected result

Creates block B without opening a calendar or assuming caller argument mutation. Under review: editorial example neither compiled nor run in Protheus. Check includes, release, RDD and context before testing.

BEST PRACTICES
  • Historical eAdvPL reference: verify platform, include, return and cancellation before use.
  • Under review: editorial example neither compiled nor run in Protheus. Check includes, release, RDD and context before testing.
