SET BROWSE ... ARRAY

SET BROWSE oBrw ARRAY aArray

Binds a historical browse to in-memory data.

SET BROWSE ... ARRAYAdvPL
01 · OVERVIEW

Overview

Historical eAdvPL reference, section 3.16. Syntax depends on that implementation’s macros and platform; current SmartClient support is unconfirmed. The array supplies rows; columns require separate setup. Visual binding does not write a Protheus table. Define row shape, handle empty lists and validate indices after replacing data. The guide’s global SetArray and class :SetArray methods have different contracts. (Sources: refs. 1–1.)

02 · SYNTAX

Syntax

SET BROWSE oBrw ARRAY aArray

Parameters

oBrw
ObjectRequired

Existing browse.

aArray
ArrayRequired

Rows matching columns.

Return value

No useful return documented in this subset.

03 · PRACTICAL EXAMPLE

Commented example

// Fragment: oBrw exists with matching columns.
Local aRows := {{"A",1},{"B",2}}
SET BROWSE oBrw ARRAY aRows
Expected result

Associates two fictional rows without database persistence. Under review: editorial example neither compiled nor run in Protheus. Check includes, release, RDD and context before testing.

BEST PRACTICES
  • Verify includes and graphical context in the target release. The fragment assumes the stated objects; it is not a complete application. Do not use in headless execution.
  • Under review: editorial example neither compiled nor run in Protheus. Check includes, release, RDD and context before testing.
