SET SEARCH DBBROWSE

SET SEARCH DBBROWSE oBrw TO uAction

Binds a search action to a historical browse.

SET SEARCH DBBROWSEAdvPL
01 · OVERVIEW

Overview

Historical eAdvPL reference, section 3.21. Syntax depends on that implementation’s macros and platform; current SmartClient support is unconfirmed. The source defines action binding but not callback arguments, positioning return or indexes. The example therefore only displays a message; it neither simulates a working search nor moves an alias. A real search must preserve context, check success and update the browse under its component contract. (Sources: refs. 1–1.)

02 · SYNTAX

Syntax

SET SEARCH DBBROWSE oBrw TO uAction

Return value

No useful return documented in this subset.

03 · PRACTICAL EXAMPLE

Commented example

// Fragment: oBrw exists; the message does not perform a search.
SET SEARCH DBBROWSE oBrw TO Alert("Search requested")
Expected result

Defines a demonstration action; search, return and refresh remain outside this subset. Under review: editorial example neither compiled nor run in Protheus. Check includes, release, RDD and context before testing.

BEST PRACTICES
  • Verify includes and graphical context in the target release. The fragment assumes the stated objects; it is not a complete application. Do not use in headless execution.
  • Under review: editorial example neither compiled nor run in Protheus. Check includes, release, RDD and context before testing.
