SetMeter

SetMeter(oMeter,nValue)

Updates a historical progress meter position.

SetMeterAdvPL
01 · OVERVIEW

Overview

Historical eAdvPL reference, section 3.24. Syntax depends on that implementation’s macros and platform; current SmartClient support is unconfirmed. Receives the meter and new value. The total belongs to component creation and must match planned work. Distinguish this function from TReport:SetMeter, which configures a total. The example assumes a 0–10 meter and records one completed step rather than running an artificial waiting loop. (Sources: refs. 1–1.)

02 · SYNTAX

Syntax

SetMeter(oMeter,nValue)

Return value

No useful return documented in this subset.

03 · PRACTICAL EXAMPLE

Commented example

// Fragment: oMeter range is 0–10; first step already completed.
SetMeter(oMeter,1)
Expected result

Requests 1 of 10; task cancellation and failures need separate handling. Under review: editorial example neither compiled nor run in Protheus. Check includes, release, RDD and context before testing.

BEST PRACTICES
  • Verify includes and graphical context in the target release. The fragment assumes the stated objects; it is not a complete application. Do not use in headless execution.
  • Under review: editorial example neither compiled nor run in Protheus. Check includes, release, RDD and context before testing.
